The Yoga of the Spiritual Heart is a spiritual path whose purpose is the revelation of our True Self, the atman, or, as it is known in contemplative traditions, the Spiritual Heart. The Yoga of the Spiritual Heart is based upon traditional spiritual principles and visions from classic yoga based on Patanjali’s Sutras, Advaita Vedanta, Tantra and Shaivism. They are correlated with teachings from Sufism, Christianity, Buddhism and Taoism.
The main methods used in the Yoga of the Spiritual Heart are: hatha yoga, the meditations for the revelation of the Spiritual Heart and techniques for quieting the mind and for developing the capacity for concentration.
The student of Hridaya Yoga should consciously use all momentum, energies, and practical efforts in order to create the inner conditions necessary for the revelation of the Spiritual Heart.
The Spiritual Heart is both the transcendent and the immanent Reality of any and all aspects of the macrocosm. The Spiritual Heart is the ultimate essence of everything there is.
The Yoga of the Spiritual Heart allows us to live in the very “core” of the existence, to feel the heartbeat of every moment of life, to know intuitively the eternal dimension of every moment.
The Yoga of the Spiritual Heart involves the presence of the Witness Consciousness and of the Open Attention. The Open Attention is radiating from the heart and its radiance is Love.
The student engaged on the path of Hridaya Yoga aspires to live into the Heart, in the Supreme Reality, in God, while God is experienced directly, beyond any conceptual and religious definitions. Thus, the Student of Hridaya Yoga will achieve the identity with the wholeness of life.
Beginner and advanced meditators are welcome. Introductory sessions, classes and lectures will be offered.
What is Hridaya, the Spiritual Heart?
Hridaya, the Spiritual Heart, is our essential and ultimate nature, the ineffable dimension of our being. It is another name for the Supreme Self, atman, as it is named in the Yogic tradition. The Spiritual Heart is the Supreme Consciousness, the ultimate Subject of Knowledge, the pure I. It is the witness consciousness, that intimate observer of all of our thoughts, emotions, sensations, the mind, of the whole Universe in both its inner and outer dimensions.
Through the practice of meditation, more and more subtle understandings about the real significance of the Spiritual Heart will be revealed. In the beginning the Heart is an object of meditation, then it becomes a means of knowledge, and finally it is revealed in its true nature, as what we really are.
“In the spiritual traditions of India, as elsewhere, the ‘heart’ refers not so much to the physical organ as to a psychospiritual structure corresponding to the heart muscle on the material plane. This spiritual heart is celebrated by yogins and mystics as the seat of the transcendental Self. It is called hrid, hridaya, or hrit-padma (‘heart lotus’). It is often referred to as the secret ‘cave’ (guha) in which the yogin must restrain his mind. In some schools, notably Kashmiri Shaivism, the word hridaya applies also to the ultimate Reality.” – Georg Feurstein
“The only beauty that lasts is the beauty of the Heart.” – Rumi

Centuries ago, a dynamic bodywork therapy based on yoga and Ayurveda was born in the temples of Thailand. In this unique healing system of Thai Yoga Massage – also called Nuad Boran and widely known as traditional Thai massage – the practitioner guides the recipient through a series of yoga postures while palming and thumbing along the body’s energy (“Sen”) lines and pressures points.
Together these actions result in a comprehensive full body treatment that relieves muscular tension, improves circulation, boosts the immune system and balances the body energetically.
Thai Yoga Massage is performed on a mat on the floor; both client and practitioner are dressed in comfortable clothing allowing ease of movement and flexibility.
Certified Reiki practitioners are available to offer treatments by appointment only; please call us to book your session.
Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. It is administered by “laying on hands” on or off the body and is based on the idea that an unseen “life force energy” flows through us and is what causes us to be alive. If one’s “life force energy” is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress, and if it is high, we are more capable of being happy and healthy.
The word Reiki is made of two Japanese words – Rei which means “God’s Wisdom or the Higher Power” and Ki which is “life force energy”. So Reiki is actually “spiritually guided life force energy.”
A treatment feels like a wonderful glowing radiance that flows through and around you. Reiki treats the whole person including body, emotions, mind and spirit creating many beneficial effects that include relaxation and feelings of peace, security and wellbeing. Many have reported miraculous results.
Reiki is a simple, natural and safe method of spiritual healing and self-improvement that everyone can use. It has been effective in helping virtually every known illness and malady and always creates a beneficial effect. It also works in conjunction with all other medical or therapeutic techniques to relieve side effects and promote recovery.
